As an avid naturalist, Monique has found and collected a vast array of bones of all origins during many years of exploring remote areas. The mystique surrounding bones has always captured the imagination of artists and art-lovers alike. As many (artists) will agree, weathered bone reputes sculptural suggestions equaled only by the wonder of the wild beast it once was. The unique shape each bone possesses proposes a fantastic artistic realm of possibilities with which to utilize their rugged beauty. Monique has found that bone and papier mache work excitingly well together to implement these suggestive qualities. While the forgiving nature of papier mache allows the mind to experience 'stream of consciousness' application, it is the shape of the bone which determines the outcome of the work.
