Drawing
and painting portraits demands proportional accuracy. However, it is
important to focus particular attention on the details of a specific
subject without overworking the portrait. Disrupting the momentum of
creation by "over-focusing" interferes with the overall feel and proportion
of the work. Over the years, Monique has completed a plethora of human
and animal portraits, capturing both the spirit and the energy of her
subjects in pencil, charcoal, paint, and pencil crayon.
