| Three-dimensional
format has the ability to state the credibility of one's work beyond
all doubt. All angles of any given subject must be accurately represented
with imagination and/or correctness of conformation in order to be considered
great work. When properly applied these qualities can suggest a variety
of moods and emotions depending on the individual piece. As one approaches
a given work with this in mind, a sculpture comes to life and moves
in a way that a two-dimensional art form cannot.
As
a sculptor, Monique hopes to entrance the viewer in a convincing world
of fantasy using the art of papier mache. Closely resembling the texture
of wood, or enrobed in the brilliance of acrylic paints, this versatile
art form is the ideal medium to capture the precision, diversity, and
uniqueness of her work. |
